What we monitor: RTI (payroll FPS/EPS)
How PenaltyProof monitors the RTI FPS deadline derived from the payroll pay day setting.
What we track
PenaltyProof derives the RTI FPS deadline from the per-company payroll_pay_day setting at /manage (day of the month). The FPS must reach HMRC on or before each pay day. EPS is due by the 19th of the following month.
Alert stages (paid plans)
Alerts fire before each pay day at the configured thresholds. The scheduler handles monthly pay day recurrence automatically.
Configuration required
RTI alerts only fire for companies where a payroll pay day is configured at /manage. RTI alerts require the rti_alerts_enabled flag (on by default).
What we do not monitor
We do not verify whether the FPS was accepted by HMRC, whether NIC calculations are correct, or whether PAYE payments were made on time. We do not monitor the EPS deadline separately — the 19th EPS deadline is not currently a separate alert trigger.

Common questions
What is the RTI alert threshold?
Alerts fire before each pay day at the configured thresholds. The exact thresholds mirror the pay day window. The scheduler derives the next pay day from the payroll_pay_day setting.
What configuration is needed?
Set payroll_pay_day per company at /manage (day of the month). RTI alerts only fire for companies where this is set. The rti_alerts_enabled flag must be on (it is on by default).
Does PenaltyProof alert on the EPS 19th deadline?
No. The EPS (Employer Payment Summary) 19th deadline is not currently a separate alert trigger. Only the FPS pay day deadline is monitored.
