What we monitor: Self Assessment

How PenaltyProof monitors the 31 January, 31 July, and 5 October Self Assessment dates.

What we track

PenaltyProof alerts on three SA dates per practice: the 31 January online filing and balancing payment deadline, the 31 July second payment on account, and the 5 October registration deadline. These are practice-level alerts — they apply once for the whole practice, not per client company.

Alert stages (paid plans)

Alerts at 30, 14, 7, and 0 days before each SA date. Thresholds follow _SA_THRESHOLDS.

What we do not monitor

We do not track individual client SA records, UTR numbers, or whether a client has filed their return. We do not monitor the paper SA return deadline of 31 October. SA monitoring is a practice-level date reminder only.

Common questions

What are the Self Assessment alert thresholds?

Alerts fire at 30, 14, 7, and 0 days before each of the three SA dates: 31 January, 31 July, and 5 October.

Do SA alerts fire per client or per practice?

Per practice. Self Assessment alerts are practice-level reminders. They fire once for the whole account, not once per client company.

Does PenaltyProof monitor whether individual clients have filed their SA return?

No. We do not access individual SA records or HMRC data. The alerts are date-based reminders only.
